Saw some nice images on tv, and thought I could make that in TG2. I don't know the proper English word though, water spout or cyclone... (waterhoos).
Windwhirl/Hurricane is een windhoos...maar waterhoos? Waterwhirl? :) No idea...
Looking pretty good btw!
reminds me of that : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newsvideo/weirdnewsvideo/8546017/Dramatic-water-tornado-appears-off-Australia-coast.html
excellent waterspout!
Poseidon's legs. Great looking waterspout.
The water is no good yet, but here's another version.
I wouldn't like to be those fishermen!
Looks cool, pretty much like the one I saw on TV yesterday.
Awesome experiments here!
it´s a very windy time here on planetside forums ;-)
Thats really good work on the waterspout.
Slightly modified central 'slurf' and accompanying whirl. Note the fishing vessel.
looks nearly right from TV! Nice render Dune :)
SUPER DUPER!
You just keep pushing the limit of this gizmo! Excellent art!
So realistic, especially the second and third. And, I don't see the vessel ...sunk? This is special creativity by you.
Great! I prefer the last one, although it's a little bit too smooth imho.
Another version with a hollow funnel and accompanying circular sidewind moist upheaval, but I need to get rid of the grain in the funnel... (now you'll see the vessel). No post.
Still grainy, but I've got an idea....
I have never seen a real one of these. The latest image looks quite good.
Got rid of the grain and made some fake water, which decreased render time (total 1.33 hr @ 0.5 and AA4).
Most impressive work! Looks like the real thing
Btw if I may ask... im curious how you made this.. Did you use blue nodes or did you go with the simple shape shader + warp -route? I remember experimenting with simple shape shader and the results were something similar, but not as good as I'd liked
It's a set of warped simple shapes indeed. Some made into a ring, warped on the Y.
"Gasp!" Quoted from the skipper in the first two images.
