Title: Foreground Haze - How can I remove it?
Post by: dasinc on June 12, 2011, 05:41:17 AM
G'day all,

I have done some reading on these forums, but I still can't find my answer....

How do I completely remove foreground haze?

I have played with the atmosphere and lighting settings....to no avail.  I have attached an example of what I would like corrected.

Thank you in advance.  It is doing my head in :)

Welcome to the forums :)

The haze density setting defaults to 1.5 and atmosphere density defaults to 2.
With these 2 parameters, along with haze/atmosphere exponential heights, you control the density of these elements.
(if you reduce density by 50% but double exp height then the density remains the same)

In your case it seems you can best lower haze density to 0.5 or lower.
Lowering atmosphere to 1.5 usually works good too, but below that it tends to look unnatural.

If none of these 2 work then you simply have a scale-issue in your project.
For instance, your mountain doesn't look that big, visually, but perhaps inside TG2 it is >10km high or whatever.
You need to reduce the scales of your scene then to make it work accurately/predictable with the atmospheric model again.

Cheers,
Martin

Excellent - thanks for that.  I now believe it is a scale issue....I'll have a play and see what I can do :)
