Title: preset packs .tgc, and nodes help
Post by: TheBadger on July 02, 2011, 05:31:20 PM
Hello

I got some nwdanet.com preset packs last year and am now finely trying to do something with them.

I am trying to connect the "brown dirt pack" to my node network, but not sure at all about what Im doing.

I have attached a screen shot of the network with the dirt pack (unconnected), can someone please tell me how to connect the pack to my node network.

Ideally I would like to replace the "dirt" I all ready have. But would it be better just to add it on top?

Thank you.

Generally it's not the idea to post the presets themselves here or screendumps, but I can understand you need to give some info to get your problem solved.
You can PM/mail all of the NWDA members about how to use the presets/objects etc.

The solution is to connect your "compute terrain" node to the top "surface layer" node in the "dirt bump" group/bookmark.
This surface layer is named "plug compute terrain here" or something along that line.

The bottom node of the node-set needs to be connected to the input of the shader which your compute terrain originally was connected to.
This way you have literally inserted it.

Hope this helps, otherwise let us know :)

Cheers,
Martin

Martin,

Your solution worked as you expected. Thank you.

But why not post screen caps and presets, copyright?

Also, I think you (and others) should do some more and advanced sep-by-step tutorials, I would pay for it, Im sure others would too. Perhaps you could earn enough to make it worth the time? Just hoping.

Thanks again.
