Hi guys, I don't have a ton (or much of any) working with 3D but I learn quick. We've been working on a comic book for some time now and I'm trying to create a physical representation of the starting area. It's mostly barren with a small crator and some large hills in the distance.
My question is whether anyone can point me in the direction of home helpful tutorials for terrain generation.
I learn quick, any help is welcomed!
Cheers,
Kade
This is a very good pdf. http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=7733.0
Here's a 3 minute setup to start with....
Hi guys, thanks for the tips. I've been using the Ben McDuff for a bit, I also stumbled across some other tutorials. My only question now is whether there is some sort of comprehensive glossary of terms or something of the like.
thanks for the help!
Here you can find the node-reference:
http://www.planetside.co.uk/wiki/index.php/Terragen_2_Node_Reference (http://www.planetside.co.uk/wiki/index.php/Terragen_2_Node_Reference)
For some nodes you can find pretty detailed information, some are just similar to the node name.
This is a must read:
http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?board=12.0;sort=subject (http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?board=12.0;sort=subject) --> then sections 4, 5 and 11.
On render settings/optimalizations which is missed out a lot:

http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=8300.0 (http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=8300.0)
This should keep you going :)
It also works good to show your work and ask specific questions on what you'd like to know and how to do that.

Martin
You guys are a huge help! I'm trying to create a 3D model to use as reference for a graphic novel project. It is a very overwhelming project and I appreciate all the help I can get. In the future when the studio opens I intend on using TG2 as daily software for the realistic approach to our projects.
Thanks so much for the advice. Any help is welcome. A further note, if there is any tutorial on how to create a cave within a mountain, or something of the like, it would be very appreciated.
Cheers,
Kade
