Title: Godrays
Post by: Tangled-Universe on July 18, 2011, 04:35:08 AM
A quicky I did yesterday.
A low density cloud at ground level with raytraced shadows enabled.
For smooth godrays I needed a cloud quality of 6.

You be right about that one! Clouds at ground level, and low density clouds are how I get my sunsets, and some of the renders in my test shots folder have some really interesting lighting in them. Terragen 2 renders lighting that's almost like a liquid sometimes. It's amazing.

Tweak the cloud settings, and how it passes lighting on, and you'll be able to make some amazing godrays.
