I think that's how it's supposed to look... a black unfilled space. Recall their radar beams not providing any details about this object. So, there's nothing to see... which makes it mysterious. Well done.
I remember these popping up in malls. Your version is much better.

Yeah but if you get very close to it, you'll be able to see that "oh my God!!! It's full of stars!!!" :D
