I think I can remember checking out a WIP site that you had on this animation some time back. Glad you finally got it finished! :)

I'm about to sit down with my youngest daughter(7) to watch it, I'll give you both of our reviews later... :)

Cheers, Njen.

Heehee! Very good. The backdrops are great, I've never been a fan of Manga but it doesn't take anything away from the film for me to see the manga character styling you've used. A very nice and dreamy world you've made! :)

My little girl loved it. As soon as she saw the butterfly she said "Gasp! Follow the eyes!"
None of us were prepared for the shock of the next scene! ;)

Well done, man! Put a smile on two little faces here, now we want a sequel, what with a sneaky open-ending like that!

Martin.

* And my Son's name is Thomas.

Im very happy for you! You have done a great thing here! Many people set out to do things like this, but few finish. I hope you make a little money just for extra motivation to keep producing. Im not sure why but one of your blurb links is down.

Also, you said that you took this work through the festival circuit. Have you made any kind of serious effort to get a Children's TV network to pick it up? Just curious because back at school my instructors were always going on about how hungry for content distributors always are.

Congratulations.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I know this film is also not without it's flaws, but now I have made my first short film, I have learnt a whole lot to make my next ones even better.

@ dandelO: Hearing how children have enjoyed watching the film is honestly a better feeling that screening in a festival, or winning an award, thanks for letting me know. There is more plans for Sneeze Me Away, a better story and better visuals are in the works for early development.

@ TheBadger: It was a monumental task. When my wife and I were working on this full time, living off our savings, and spending many tens of thousands of dollars on what essentially is a passion project, the fear of throwing in the towel and getting more well paying work was ever present. The TV networks thing is an interesting thought. Honestly, it's all I can do to make any more effort for something I had begun working in my off time in 2007, but I guess I have made it, so now I have to make the most of it :)

@ Kadri: It certainly was, thanks very much for your comment!

@njen

As I understand it, you can take your work to a production company, distributor, or network usually via an agent, but also by your self. If they pick it up (good chance of it too!), then they will finish it and take the lion share of any profit. But it could still be well worth it for you, certainly in the long run.

With commercials the run time should be close to a half hour, which is perfect. Just try it! do some more research, and write a few letters. It can't hurt. Try "cartoon Network", best place to start I can think of.

Good luck!
