Title: mapmaker

I thought that there were terrain files I could use in TG...did not appear to work though....anyone else seen this site?

try opening them in Landserf
maybe 3dem would work too, on the windows platform.

Or you could go direct to the OS OpenData (https://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/opendatadownload/products.html) site and download the entire British Isles as Contour (ASC and NTF) or contour (DXF). Its the same dataset that the Mapmaker software used so should be as good if not better.

Out of curiosity I downloaded the Landform dataset, it seem to be surprisingly incomplete ! (Assuming that the map tile references are the same as those used in the MapMaker downloads.)

.. but then again.. if the reference is to the bottom left corner of a 4 tile section.. then it's not !! DOH !

Hi Inky,

I had a quick look at the .ter file provided in the downloads and it doesn't seem to be a Terragen .ter file.
