Hello,
I am trying to finish an image I have been working on and which many of you have helped me with. One thing more I need to learn how to do in order to finish is to make rock slides like in these examples:

What is the best way to do something like in my examples?
Just a few fake stones merged, put on the slope/area you want them, I'd say.
Hi dune,
Should I use the fake stone shader, or a rock population from the objects drop-down list? I am not sure what the differences are. The shader allows you to make lots of stones as you would a terrain? If so why would you use a stone object?
Use the fake stones, that's easier. Just a couple of sizes, blended by something to restrict them to your slope (distribution shader, painted shader...) and merged (merge shader: highest raise). Don't forget a power fractal with some displacement and color as the middle fake stone insert (texture). And perhaps a no displacement, 1 color power fractal after that to get some color variation. Should work perfectly.
Thanks Dune
