Title: Hairy Man Valley Finished
Post by: Henry Blewer on October 10, 2011, 08:56:55 AM
A test render. I have not added the shrubs yet. I was trying to vary the foliage color and grass area coloring.

Here's the finished render. I used Dandelo's Maples, Marc Gebhart's Dead Conifer, and Walli's The Noble one and Dry Bushes.

I think you need to break up the nearest strata (simple shape to control area + PF), and try to get a lot of shrub (or fake rocks) under the trees, so that these frontal flat areas aren't so smooth and strata-like. And perhaps hit the cloud seed a couple more times for another shadow distribution. The dark spot is a bit obtrusive, IMHO.
I like the one or two fallen trees.

Oh, perhaps also remove the trees from the further higher altitudes.

Thanks Ulco. I sort of rushed this, so it is actually fairly good when you consider that.
For some reason I have been able to sleep more lately. This has cut into my time for Terragen 2. I will re-seed the main fractal which forms the landscape. There is enough good stuff to work more on this.
