off-shoot of my Domed Hills of Lydarch project, using the same simple shape shader to create hills/mountains
only with a more advanced node network
i'm wondering if i should add a grass population, maybe a sparse one, that would appear to be a little dry.
C&C welcome
Nice!!!
if anyones interested, i will post of clip file of some of the nodes.
Rather than grass what about a few dead twisted trees?
It could be a huge landscape where a herd of wild animals (maybe even mammoths ;) ) could roam, or a hill of 10 meters high. Either way, you need something to give it size. Nice rock texture for a start!
Nice displacements :)

I like the twisted look of the hill. Metamorphic. I would add some sparse bushes here and there. Not too many; a painted shader would do the trick for the population locations.
decided to do render at 4k size, i will post that on deviant art.
added a second set of cracks, that are scaled a little smaller than the first.
decided to go with some of icegrips dead trees
@henry- i will have bushes in the next iteration.

v4 with bushes.
the terrain has changed a bit.
C&C welcome
The bushes look good, but need more species variation. ;)
added more bushes, variation, i decided to switch to from a painted shader to a distribution shader with min/max elevations enabled, along with min/max slope enabled
