Title: Water level vs Y Axis issues
Post by: Jonathan on November 02, 2011, 05:31:05 AM
Hi All,

A problem I have noticed a lot is a variance between Water Level and "Y" Axis. I am creating a scene with Water Level at 148. However, if I place the mouse near the edge of the water on the terrain, the reading is 117. If I run my mouse across the water, "Y" axis reports 117. The centre of the "Lake" is close to my render camera - why does the water level node show 148 metres when in reality it is sitting on the terrain at 117 metres? It makes setting up distribution shaders a bit hit and miss.

Thanks!

Jonathan

This should provide the answer:

http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=6701.msg71067#msg71067 (http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=6701.msg71067#msg71067)

And a tad bit more here, though not as well written as Matt of course:

I hope these help.

Cheers,
Martin
