Title: A Hazy, Lazy Day
Post by: choronr on November 15, 2011, 12:53:47 AM
An attempt to improve upon my last image.

And what an attempt! Very nice image , choronr :)
Only part what i would change a little would be a little more variation on the ground and plant color on some parts.
Other then this i like this very much.

Yeah this is very very good. Just keep adding little details. Perfect POV and everything, just add lots and lots of little details. Debris and color variation. Great Job man

Very nice, the lighting makes the scene very realistic.

How do you make the sky white rather than blue, if that's not a silly question?

This is some great canyon work. Are there intrusions on the cliff faces (small stones, or shiny er areas)? That would look nice here.

Thanks Kadri, you're right - more color and object variation would be good. Due to the distance of the POV, smaller objects would be near invisible. For that reason, I limited the input.

Thanks Badger, for the reasons mentioned. I limited the input of more models.

Thanks reck; regarding the sky, the haze density is increased a bit - and, the sun is at an altitude of 25.1428 with a heading of 324 puting it at almost at the center of the image. Also note that the sun is behind the mountain.

Thanks Henry; yes, there are some intrusions on the cliff faces. I set a fill light on them to increase their brightness. In fact, I noted a few bright spots that looked like artifacts - so, I posted them out.

Thanks Ulco; agree, it does have a Disney flavor.

Very realistic, congratulations Bob! You've got all the colors and light just perfectly right here!

Thank you Frank, those old DEM files I used in Terragen Classic still provide some interesting POVs. This image and the one before it uses your stone bed file and your wavy terraces and strata. Although the stones do not show up, they do produce some interesting results when used in combination with the other shaders I used. I would post this .tgd in sharing; but, would have to delete the stone bed file; in which case would ruin the effect you see.

True, but the nice colours would remain :)

Bob, this looks great. You know I'm a contrast and color freak and I think a bit more contrast would make this undiscernable from a photo. Excellent work my friend....looking forward to more!!

Thank you Mark. I'm not often sold on high contrast since it often produces the effect of a high saturated and bold look. This is OK for certain type scenes and will probably use it sometime where it may be necessary.

Very realistic, looking at it one can nearly feel the sun's heat at this place. Very well done!  :o
