Very nice in all aspects. I really like the composition. But what about realism? I see that some terragen2 images look like photos and some look like anime. At what point in the process does an image tend to one or the other? It does not appear to me to be just a question of render settings.

Just my thoughts.

I'd say it depends on models and shaders used.  A scene made with really good shaders and Xfrog Plants will look completely real, other models and shaders may not look quite so quite as much.

I think I killed any realism by the coloring of the grass. I was a bit focused on color with this, got a bit carried away with it  ;D. I think more displacement on the fences bump mat would help. I was able to get some good displacements on the cross members, but the posts were just getting bloated. It would have to be remapped in another app. to seperate the two.
