I'm using an older free version of terragen 2 (first release I think) and am learning how to populate my scene with trees in tgo format. But each and every time again. They stand apart very far, like at least 10meters between each tree. Object spacing helps but I cannot get that big pine forest feeling. Help? ???

So a lowish resolution render like 480x360 and a screen capture of your populator settings?
Ideally I'd like to see the .tgd file.
Since you're using the free version I'd always try to use the latest version, since it will have less bugs, better performance and updated/more features.
