Nice view using soft shadows, it improves realism. I like as is but any sugestion it's welcome, thanks for viewing.
What a sweet render :)
I completely agree that soft shadows increases realism.
In this case I think without soft shadows the image may have become just an average one, but as we can see it turned out very nicely and realistic!
Cheers,
Martin
Sorry I forgot to mention Mr Lampost, Walli and Klas for his fantastic models, and other from xfrog slightly modifed.
Thanks Martin for your comments, actually soft shadows do the work in this case.
nice render. i like. :)
maybe make the grass a denser, it doesnt look right with just the green surface layer
nice looking road btw.
Very nice! How'd you make the path with a distinct color and no objects?
Very pleasant to look at.
Very good, indeed. What softness did you use for the shadows? Obviously not the default.
I agree about the close up grassy vegetation; I'd add more different grasses to get rid of the green underground. And maybe give the sandy road a little more diversity, like flatter areas here and there, some clumps of soil/rock at other places. Like a worn path that has less obstacles/clumps/stones centrally and more at the sides.

Would really like to know too! Just started playing with this option and don't really have much of an idea of whats ideal and whats extreme. Please share.
Sorry I'm out of home for hollidays, next monday I'll share the parameters of soft shadows used in this landscape, but in advance this parameters are slightly random and intuitive.
Here the values I used in this landscape:
Refering to the render: Detail 1, Anti-Aliasing 8. GI default values and only raytrace objects switch on.
Refering to sun light: default values except 6 for strength.
Refering to soft shadows: diameter 1, samples 32, jitter 3
Refering enviro light: only strength on surfaces changed to 2.
I hope this helps you.
Thanks for your comments.
Thanks, Megabeat.
