Title: A new panorama
Post by: Antoine on December 05, 2011, 01:46:05 PM
A new image.

The setting : Detail : 0,9 / AA 8 / GI 2/2.

Here the haze upper limit is just under the altitude of the camera ( by 30m about), I wanted to give haze only in the valley.
The problem : I don't know why but the higher mountains are still too much hazy (it should not be since I gave an upper limit to the haze). Is there other setting I should know about ?
Thanks for your help.

Great sense of scale in this one!
Sorry, can't help with your problem, but someone who can is sure to be on line soon.
Also, I would make changes to the clouds on the right of the image, they are way to dense for their hight.

I think the haze you have on the peak works well, it helps give needed distance to the image. Have a look at photographs of real scenes like this one and you will see what I mean? In the mean time, this is a vary nice image.

Regards to you.

There is a distance effect with the atmosphere. This is probably due to the lighting calculations (Guessing). Try rendering the atmosphere and the landscape separately. Then composite them. It may not make any difference. ???

looks great, in the atmo node, try reducing the haze density, reset the height setting also and try 3d clouds for the mist in the valley?

An update : now the vallée has true clouds, no haze anymore.
I have deleted the low altitude clouds and insteed have added some in the top of the mountain.

I hope this last one looks more realistic.

This is better. Very nice work with the erosion channels on the mountains. The plants really do well giving a sense of depth.

nice work. Do you have some stuff at the left and right from the camera? Because I think a wider picture format would be nice for this scene.
