Title: New animation : Ice
Post by: Nico3333fr on December 13, 2011, 01:33:33 AM
Hi,

I've finished an animation simply called "Ice" : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmtasab_9z4

(a version in better quality is available for download on my personal website : http://www.nicolas-hoffmann.net/source/animations-terragen2-terragen-apophysis.php )

It took about 2 month to render on a Core i7, 9Gb (4 renders in parallel). Overhangs and reflexions to see in ! ;)

See you,
Nicolas

I like this one a lot. There are a few places where render issues are visible, but overall it's a remarkable achievement. You have a lot of patience to render with so many reflections and at high quality! ;D

I really enjoy the Mars Render anim. This one is a close 2nd. I was also curious about the amount of time to render this. I really need to learn how to optimize the render settings. :-[

I like it.  Tell me, is it better to make the animation first and then add music or find a score and make the animation over the top of the music?

I agree with Oshyan, reflections are difficult to render - long and sometimes tricky.  Very well done.  I like the way you played with the light of the sun.  Cool shapes, too.

Two months, yow! :o Somebody needs a render farm... :D

But one of the best I've seen. Looks like a movie intro.
