Title: Terragen in Green Lantern...
Post by: Njen on January 07, 2012, 10:00:40 AM
It's been a while since I have posted here...I've been very busy! I know it's not much and late at that, but there was a shot I used Terragen in in the recent release of Green Lantern. Actually, this shot was a bit of an emergency for the studio, and I proposed a simple and fast solution with using Terragen to render a sky box of an atmosphere, map it in Nuke using a spherical transform node, then I was able to use a 3D camera in Nuke to produce content for the monitor inserts with a very fast turn around.

I am not sure about the legality of posting the image here, but I will go ahead anyway, because I am sure you all want to see it. Mods: Feel free to remove it if you wish.

Interesting! TG2 was being used in multiple locations in the same film then, by different (I assume) effects houses. Very cool, thanks for sharing. :)

That lab in the photo looks like it cost a shit ton of cash to build.
