Just a quick doodle I've managed to do while dodging my schoolwork. It would be great to hear what you think.

This is beautiful!
How did you achieve that cumulonimbus look?
Powerful image, I really like the water. Reminds me of some of the lakes near me on a stormy day.
Really good! It all fits together nicely. I too would be interested in those clouds. One thing I would change is the wideness of the vista. I think a 'landscape' ratio and something small happening in the (great) sea would be terrific. Just a few white gulls skimming the wave tops, perhaps. Or even a dolphin leapin' in the distance, but discernible as a dolphin.
Looking nice :)
I suppose you went for a Luc Bianco reproduction here? ;)
Excellent image, no crits
:)

Very convincing it is!
Thanks for the suggestion everybody, I'll see what I can do with them. You have a good eye TU, this is definitely based off of my favorite of Luc's work. My clouds use a miss-mash of stuff from some of the NWDA cloud packs that I threw together to try and duplicate Luc's tall, fluffy clouds. I've only been somewhat successful as you can see I have a sort of cloud wall. The next step is to make this image less Luc's and more my own work ;)
The clouds are spectacular! Great scene.
commented at DA...
I like these clouds a lot!

Dune mentioned that a landscape version might look good, so I decided to run with that idea a bit and I like the way it's turned out so far. I like the general POV but I'm going to fiddle with the camera position a bit as well as improve the realism of the vegetation. Also, the birds are probably going to be removed and replaced with...something.

Awesome work so far. I like the lower cloud layer too and the water looks great as well. You may try to show just a tad bit more of the water...say half an inch or so.
Just so I can see it better ;D
Great render , darthvader1 :)
Is there any post work?
the second version is just awesome :)
Agree with T-U. Landscape version is looking great, show a tad more water. Other than that I don't know I'd change it much, just render bigger!

awesome second render...rendered bigger is the only improvement I can suggest...perfect imho!
:)
Thanks everybody! The next version will be bigger (probably 1920x1080) and will include more water :)
@Kadri: This is straight TG2 output, there is no postwork...unless you count re-saving as jpeg haha
Thanks :)
Nice, wish it was mine.
Striking those clouds, best I've seen recently. Combined with the terrain and light, this is evolving into a beauty.
Great update, Darth. But, please dump these birds. I'll trade you a real gull for those clouds ;)
Two very beautiful images. I prefer the first for the light over the forest and the second for his dramatic aspect. I think the birds are maybe to big.
Here's the landscape version. as promised ;) The clouds look good...but for some reason I can't quite put my finger one I think the water is my favorite part. It's been fun, hopefully ya'll enjoy it :)

Nice. Love the water color.

Thanks guys :)
Really good!
Agree with all comments, really good but defiantly a bit more water, remember the rule of thirds ;)
I am lucky enough to travel to St Lucia a couple of times a year and you have captured the quality of light exactly, this is normally what I see as we land bright sun and clouds gathering for the late afternoon storm just in time to spoil my first beer.
