Title: Skyboxes
Post by: mrpiddly on April 20, 2007, 11:11:30 PM
When ever i try to render a skybox in terragen 0.9 i always have trouble with the top and bottom. The 4 side images work fine but the top and bottom of the image are to dark and dont match up even with rotations and the same settings as the side images. does anyone know what the problem is? I am on a zoom of one for all the images

I never had that problem; perhaps it's your camera setup? I posted a skybox viewer a while back. The site has sample scripts for creating skyboxes with both TG.9 and TG2. It's at http://users.carbonpower.net/moriarty. It may be of some help to you.

It still happens with the scripts. Here is a picture of what is wrong.

Zoom is at one for all and i set pitch to 90. All pictures we taken with the same settings in the same resolution. The problem may be because i was only 100m off the water, which also had this problem,  but im not sure. All pictures are rotated correctly and take at 800 by 600 at the highest settings.

That looks an awful lot like a totally different cloudscape. Are you using an animation script to render the frames (.tgs)? If so make sure "random clouds on each frame" is *unchecked* in the cloud settings of your .tgw. This might also explain why the water looked different - it was reflecting different clouds.
