Title: Acropora
Post by: rcallicotte on February 07, 2012, 09:08:09 AM
Has anyone tried this?  If so, I am wondering how it would supersede something like zBrush or Sculptris?

Looks interesting.  I just downloaded the demo and did the "just start clicking on stuff."  It reminds me a bit of Urban Pad, another program that requires some reading/tutorials.

Urban Pad definitely needed some tutorials, maybe even more than TG2.  Luckily, we have Oshyan, Jo and Matt.   ;D

I just don't see what I could do with this Acropora that I couldn't do in 3D Coat, zBrush or Sculptris (which is free).  But, I might be missing something.

If you watch the videos (they are in a rather strange place; gallery) here:

..... especially the second and third.  Looks like some interesting ways to make caves.  Of course, as you mentioned, you can do most of that (shallow caves) in 3D Coat or Zbrush.

I'm going to fool with the trial for a bit.  Be interesting to see what the those that are way better than me with TG2 could do.
