Title: shout-out for more multi-threading!
Post by: shadowphile on March 14, 2012, 08:56:27 PM
I'm glad that main renders use full CPU resources as I now have a Sandy Bridge I7.    :)
The next biggest improvement I can imagine is full multi-threaded preview window, which still seems to ooze along with only 1 thread, or 15% on my PC!  It would make all those 'tweak and wait' steps so much more interactive.
Can we look forward to that in the near-ish future?

I want to move through fully rendered worlds like that :)

Supercooling!

Hi,

Not really in the near-ish future I'm afraid. We have been experimenting with a multithreaded preview render but it is a bit of a challenge to make it stable. It's definitely something we're aiming for though.

Regards,

Jo

I could be missing something ???, but TG2 is already 64 bit.
