Title: Rock face
Post by: Dune on March 15, 2012, 01:37:39 PM
Inspired by the threads about rocks... voronoi blurbs blended by a vertically stretched ridged fractal.

You did what? She-ite!!! I've been looking to get that blocky effect.  It'd be the creme de la creme of nuances for the "perfect" terrain!  Nice work, Ulco!

This looks good Dune. Do you know if it is possible get a similar wall on the right side to form something like from this thread: http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=14055.0
;D

I'm sure it's possible. You might even take some warped soft simple shapes as basic walls. Here's the setup I used. Never mind the road, it's under water now  ;)

No way Man, not me! I leave this crazy stuff to you guys! That node network made my brain hurt just looking at it.

It's very simple, nothing compared to some other setups. Some nodes aren't attached, so think them away, put it together and hit some seeds or change some values.

Fantastic rock face. I still can't believe how someone can handle such a node jungle!!

I did another iteration, inserting Mogn's perlin 3D 'voronoi' thingy as another redirect in the rock face. Also transformed the Y factor of the blocky redirect X 0.5. And added 2 icebergs (SSS's as warped triangles).

Hi Dune,

The surface you have been playing with here would look really nice with water cascading down it. hint hint.
