Current result of my attampt to recreate a scene from prometheus, the ship is just a placeholder really, bearing no real resemblance to the Prometheus
Wow, is it that bad?
Andrew probably not!
Just kidding :)
Your WIP Looks good , but some times it is slow here.
Especially on the weekends.I have not such mortal restrictions ;D
By the way, from where is that ship object ?
If you want to make the scene more like the movie your clouds should be more billowy-globular i think.
Very nicely done :)
The ship is just a stand-in? Wow, bring on the good model! :)
I've been fiddling with this scene over the weekend but have nothing to show for my efforts lol The render times were just too heavy for my poor ol' lappy.
cheers
Richard
I like it so far. Keep at it.
Someone else did some clouds like you were asking about in that other thread. here is a image thread with clouds similar to what you were after:

Hi Andrew,
I find the key to this type of atmosphere is using different shapes in different layers and heights.
For the more pronounced shapes of cloud I also often use image map projections, which would also help you gain more artistic control over the layout.
Great start though.
Chris
I like this...great mood!
:)
2 cool things about this:
1. I already thought of Prometheus befor ereading yout comment on the render (thought of a scene in the trailer)
2. I like the title at the top of the render as it reminded me of that cool old 3D shooter game
Really like this one!
Thanks everyone, using image map projections for the clouds is way above my ability at the moment, I struggled for two days to get it to look this way. The ship was modelled in Liightwave which is where the final render was put together as well, with some post work in After Effects.
