Title: Tropical Scene
Post by: InsomniaJohn on April 19, 2012, 05:27:04 PM
Hey all.  This is a first go at doing a scene with any kind of plant life, also first scene in 2.4.  Maybe I missed it, but are there no new options for rendering multichannel exrs with fun stuff like zdepth and normals passes?  I worked with Matt for a couple days on the Paramount logo redo and I'm guessing he was using his own special version of Terragen because I had all those fun passes to play with. :(

Great looking image! Nice, thick "atmosphere" to it, very much like a lush jungle.

The render pass functionality is coming in version 2.5.

Like it too. Great fantasy scene!

What are all the little plants that make up the cliff walls?

Colour palate and composition is perfect for this kind of scene.

Hey John, didn't know it was you. Glad to see you here. As Oshyan says, the Render Elements will be released with v2.5, later this year.

Thanks everyone!

Badger - the cliffs were caked in a couple million young coffee trees.
Matt - ya, I am only a few months into working with Terragen, I got it to do a couple skys in The Hunger Games and have LOVED playing with it since.
