Title: Me again :) Details from Orbit problem
Post by: Andrew March on May 01, 2012, 05:36:39 AM
Well, stumped again, I'm creating a low orbit shot but every render seems to be without detail on the planet, I'm using well defined image maps which show up in the previews but do not show at all in final renders. Could this be a result of a thick atmosphere? Could anyone suggest some settings.

You really need to post an image or .tgd

No one can help unless they see the problem. Your description could be a million things.

Yeah, you're right Badger, sorry.

This one doesn't include image maps for detail just colour surfaces.

Check your enviro light.. it has strength for terrain set to 0.02 which is way way too small

Just the person I was hoping to hear from, your space shots are fantastic and inspirational. Thanks for the input.

Okay, I have increased the light as suggested but it makes the planet a little flat looking, can anyone suggest any settings that keep the shadows but reveal details in the illuminated areas.

Thanks
