Hi,
First time posting here, I was wondering if there were any plans to port TG2 to Linux?
thanks!
We have no specific plans at this time but it's definitely something we have in mind.

If Terragen 2 came to Linux my use of it would increase +4*1013 fold. I find that programs generally run better on Linux especially the (by linux standards) low cost linux distros such as Lubuntu.
By better, I mean extremely awesomely.
I do not think that we will see a Linux version of Terragen .
Jo makes the Mac version. They have to hire another programmer or Jo or Matt had to make the Linux version themselves.
With the progression speed we see now i think waiting for the Linux version would be overly (much overly) optimistic.
They may want it! But making it is another thing.
In fact i wouldn't make a Linux version other then a passion for Linux itself maybe too if i had the call in these circumstances .
I have nothing against Linux or Planetside (i would love to see TG 2 everywhere obviously) just my thoughts about this ;)
If you really wanted to run T2 on linux, you could plunk down $200 US and purchase VMWARE workstation for Linux, and then install T2 onto the VMWARE image. But the overhead would suck up a lot of cycles and I think you'd find T2 would run about as slow as my kids doing their homework.

What's stopping you using it more at the moment? What issues are you having with Windows (or Mac) that you think would be resolved with a Linux distro?

Ubuntu should be able to read and write the NTFS file system so you might be able to run it. At least try it out.

Well the problem with my windows isn't so much in Terragen, but more of everything else.

I tried that, but my Wine can't handle msi's at all for some reason. Checked for a fix, attention span ran out. Though, I'll probably try again.
EDIT: That's right it wasn't the msi it was another problem. I can fix it now maybe.

i agree with Kadri, hiring a programmer to make a linux version would be the best (quicker :D) way to a linux release.
Matt/Jo should continue with what they do now, otherwise we wont be seeing a linux anytime soon i think.
