hehe that was fun.
unfortunately, because of the heavy displacement (and only on lateral parts) the render time was absolutely ridiculous.
So, i wanted to add vegetation after that test, but it seems it will stay like that for the moment ;)
Looks interesting and nice Seth!
By the way "ridiculous" ? How much? :)
Interesting and I like that formation. Is there only one of these or is the planet populated with them?
awesome tower...great sky and mood too, looks unstable and it would only be the very hardiest of plants that could grow here anyway!!
:)
Grandiose ! Mais pas convaincu par l'effet de cadre... Ça bouffe complètement les nuages (qui ont l'air fort jolis). :/
There's probably a lot of overlapping geometry with all that displacement, hence a long rendertime (I think). Maybe by slowly adding more small detail after larger (lateral) displacements that can be overcome.
It seems he's used lateral displacement on all the surface (we can see some of it on background). Maybe he can try masking...
Thanks guys :)
that is a one shot tower and the all planet is not populated by tower like displacement unfortunately.

That is what I've done ;)
But I don't know if you usually use the "lateral only", but here, I usually get long render time out of it ^^
J'aime beaucoup! Le ciel est superbe. L'effet de vignette m'apparait par contre trop marqué.
is that better ? :D
Totally admire that render, Franck. Excellent detail and FANTASTIC clouds, composition, too!
Great detail
Love the details on this one Franck!
Hey Thanks guys. I Will do another render out of this tgd. From another pov and some modifications too.
Fantastic and unusual!
great one!
