Title: Cliffs
Post by: ballezballez on June 07, 2012, 04:53:48 AM
Hi,

I have to generate a cliffs scene like these:

Do you have an idea how can i proceed to make that?
Is there any tgd file shared on this forum to begin? Or do I have to use a DEM terrain available on the net?

Thanks a lot.

Basically, if you make a large square or circle (Simple shape), and warp it, you can get such 'outcrops'. Then raise this a hundred meters (displacement shader or inside the SSS) and add some soft perlin for the upper terrain (blended by the same simple shape. Voila.

Damn i'm too noob. When you say "warp" where can i find this function. And I can't displace my disc objet, how do i connect it? For SSS, what is it?

Sorry...

HI

Here's a quick example, play with the size of the simple shape shader to get the landscape you want.  Hope it helps.
