It's nice that a story is still allowed to be told in full, despite the commercial pressures. Can't hurt that Peter Jackson can point to the success of LOTR in justifying another episode for The Hobbit.

"New Line Cinema, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, and Warner Bros. Pictures Announce Third Film in The Hobbit Trilogy"
It will be a great trilogy, but I won't be happy with MGM until they make more Stargate.
Thanks for the info! This could be good news.
i'm just wondering if the hobbit movies will be as long as the LOTR movies, i could accept that, if their long, but if their shorter it sounds like a money scheme.
What I read is the extra footage will be based upon the totality of the information (including other novels and research by Tolkien) available.
whatever the case is, you know this is going to be a block buster.
