Again, experimenting with AndyWelder's tire tracks.
If it was me, I would have placed the car slightly off the path, as though it was manually pushed to it's final resting place.
Looks nice!
Good scale, good feel.
Needs more details/populations/variations.
Nice image and maybe a good idea form UI, sitting it off track. Or if you want it moving, make some exhaust smoke (black and dirty).
Thanks everyone. My thoughts here was to depict an old auto abandoned somewhere in the deep in a forest left to rust away.
choronor, the car doesn't look abondoned. Just stopped. Perhaps out of gas. I suggest you raise the bonnet, or flatten the right front tire. Or have the car collided with a tree trunk. Give the viewer a visual reason why it's abondoned. Since we can't see the gas guage, you need a more obvious visual reason for the car being abondoned. If you wanted to, you could show foot tracks leading away from the car, or car parts on the ground. Have the car off the road track to suggest that the car came to a stop due to mechnical failure. You might also use vegitation growth on the car to illustrate a long duration of the abondonment.

You can add some rust, or use the ivy generator!
I like the idea choronr. Are you going to pursue this one, or are you just trying things out?

Thanks Pat; but, I'm just an illustrator, not a magician (just kidding). Your ideas are well taken, but, I'm moving on to the next project.

Thanks Ulco, I did use the rust shader that came with this model. Apparently is doesn't show too well. I have the ivy generator but never used it ...good idea!

Thanks Badger. I'll be moving on to the next project. Each project is a learning experience for me ...I've much to go.

Illustrators *are* magicians - they just use "slight of eye".
Everything we do we learn from...unless we quit.

The craziest thing - when I read this I envisioned Dr McCoy telling Captain Kirk " Dammit Jim, I'm an illustrator, not a magician...." ;D
"He's dead Jim!"
Took some advice and pushed the car off the road.
Like!
Now it really does look abandoned.

Raise the bonnet and there'll be no doubt the guy's AAA membership lapsed.
Looks nice :)
How about a shoot from a human eye high or a little lower?
Shots from this angle can sometimes perceived as unnatural .
Of course i do not know how the composition would work out from that angle.
Just curious!
Hi
I like the framing here a lot; aspect ratio and such. My only crit is that I would expect more diversity of plants and colors if I were there.
But I am not sure how much you can do about that. There is a serious lack of trees available in the first place. What is out there on the net is good, but theres just not much of it.
Once I have finished learning the basics of modeling and move up to a better software than what Im practicing with, I will surly make some trees for us!
Anyone hear anything more about "trees for TG is live"
Just talking.
Nice Bob. One thing; the left front wheel seems to float. Maybe tilt it down (it may have a flat tire after all).

Great! Hopefully something other than pines?
The final depiction of abandonment where someone many years ago decided to take an off road trip somewhere deep into the Allegany mountains. Suddenly, the '39 Ford stalled. Unable to restart, the driver pushed the car off the road, never to come back.
Today, some 70 years later, an old Classic, rusted-out vehicle waits to be found and restored.
Thanks to all of you responding to this project and your suggestions. The adjustments and changes made to this 'final' will hopefully do it some justice.
Note to Oshyan: Although I have 'Notify me of replies' checked off, I have not been getting email notices as I once was. This started about a week ago ...any way you could fix this?
Terrific!
Nice improvements,was worth it.
Good work Bob, well done!
Bob, that really is a great image!
the last one is perfect Bob!
:)
I very like the last one !!!
