Here's a WIP of some plants I've been working on. (I plan to add bushes, flowers, more trees etc... to the final image.)

You are going to make them or just add them?
What ever you do to this scene, don't change that cloud, maybe use a transform shader to move it up a little. If I was asking for ideas, I'd sugest a stone wall or thicket to break up the horizontal, so you can split your texturing to two areas.

TheBadger - I may use some NWDA or xfrog(I only have a few) plants to fill this out but I've been enjoying the process of creating my own. We'll see.
choronr - My reference tree was a Quaking/Trembling Aspen according to wikipedia (it didn't have the papery kind of bark).
