Title: I'm stumped - help please.
Post by: mhaze on November 02, 2012, 04:13:13 AM
Hi all

I desperately need to get to the bottom of this problem. I cannot get any population to sit on the ground :(   I've search the forums and tried all the remedies I could find but nothing seems to work.  Could you terragen experts please have a look at the tgd and see if you can spot the problem. Mick

I can't check this, as you've not supplied any assets with your scene, but I would hazzard a guess that you need to put in a smaller patch size in your compute terrain node. At the moment it's working out your displacements to a 20m sqr resolution, you may need to dial this back to 1m or even further.

Did you use the check box in the seed tab, sample terrain and density shader before moving and rotating area? Un check this if you did. I believe this is for animating populations, not for static ones.

It is just a guess. I tried to use this once and had similar difficulties.

Thanks for the replies, No check box is not ticked, patch size has no effect. The population is a Terragen grass clump so you should be able to test it, ignore the rest.

I had another look. I love the rocks btw.

Lose the distance shader at the top of your network. That seemed to work.
