Title: UI question
Post by: monks on May 18, 2007, 05:24:31 AM
Hello, could anybody tell me what the meaning/function of 'Size: ...- + ' immediately above the small ortho view, is? What does this view refer to?

Cheers,

This simply allows you to zoom in and out of the ortho view.  "-" zooms you in, and "+" zooms you out.

Hi Old Blaggard :)- so if you've imported a heightfield, the view is supposed to show the whole terrain? I think I've been having some scale problems...

The view is set to 1km by default, no matter what the size of the imported terrain is.  The center of the ortho view is also set to 0,0 by default (I think), which means that if you have your terrain location set to "lower left" with coordinates of 0,0, you will only see a little of it in the ortho view.

The origin being at the centre on the ortho might explain some of the difficulties I had . I had an mask in an imagemap shader and I could only see it when the imagemap was set to center. Yes, that explains it because I zoomed out in the ortho and the terrain started appearing from the top right.
Thanks for your help!
