Title: Wreck Waterfall
Post by: Kadri on December 23, 2012, 06:02:57 PM

This begun as a kinda real render with a plateau.
When the time came to put the plateau in there
my weak side became over me ones again and this spaceship fell on the ground...

The plants are not mine everything else is.
MGebhart , Dune and Mr_Lamppost's free plants are used  :)

The water fall and the wires are made in post.

I will make a basic camera animated video probably.

Thanks guys :)

I am waiting for another render now.
Changed the sun position more to the near left side to bring some more volume to the clouds under the rear section.
Not sure if it will look any good.
The right cloud looks too much complex so far i can see now.
And i don't know how the ground will end...will see in an hour or so anyway!

The last version.

Comped 2 flying thingies in there.
I was not brave enough to put them in the middle somewhere :)

Not sure which one is better.
This looks kinda more realistic probably.
But the first one had a warmer lighting and i still like it.

Definitely prefer the first one.

If you include the 'flying thingies' into the first one, that would be great.

The first will be preferred from you too as it seems!

Why not Simius :) Just a second!

Nice render. Worthy of a wall-poster size!
You did the starship, too?

I like the second image, my self. But the 3rd image with the fly by added makes the OP better too. Grand image Kadri!

Thanks, Jo!

I am rendering an animation now.
The settings are more from the first one.
Maybe the second would be better but i did not made the spaceship for such a scene.
So a little darker setting is more suited .

I had 80 frames or so rendered but did not liked some parts.
So i changed some settings. It will take 15-20 days probably .
One frame takes nearly 40 minutes ( i7 2600K + affinity set to 7 cores).
Too long for an 1280x538 animation.
But lower settings does have too much noise-flicker.

This is a great looking image! I prefer the 3rd one. The clouds are great looking and the fly by is a great addition to the scene. Looking forward to see the animated version  8)

Thanks guys!

As expected the noise was too much so i changed the AA to 6 . There is still noise.
One frame takes a little more then 1  hour on my i7 2600K.
On our old Quad (6600 i think) it takes more then 3 hours for one frame.
It is more a test now.
I search everything about animation here in the forum .
Noiseless animation with low render times is not so easy.
I am conquering my wife's pc right now
and will converting the 10 years old good XP (the hardware is not so old ) to Windows 8 64 bit ,
especially to use it for this animation as a third pc.
