Here's my next challenge. Problem is how to get rid of the ghost tracks.....
hmmmmmmmm............ beats me!
Another great idea Ulco, looking forward to you progress.
Here is a very nice video of a train ride through the 'Verde River Valley' in Cottonwood, Arizona. I've taken this ride several years ago. See: http://verdecanyonrr.com/ .
Thanks, Bob.
Got my problem solved... now for a more decent landscape.... sleepers don't have enough room, GI forgotten...
Looking good. Very interesting to see how this develops.
Looks good. Don't know what the purpose of that building is, but being there would scare the hell out of me.
A little better, but not good enough yet.
Good, good. :)
Coming along. the rocks need some vertical cracks and gullys perhaps
Yep. I was already onto it. Tried to make some streams coming down the cliff, but they need work. It's tricky to get the displacements right and not disturb the railroad.
Ok, the big waterfall is great. The rest looks more like ice so far. This is going to be another one to bookmark...
Different version. I will next try some cracked and flattish rock face, maybe with a O&S shader...
Fantastic waterfall!
Nice approach Ulco! This reminds me about the dangerous roads photos :)
The waterfall is very simple; just two cloud layers blended by simple shapes, where the 'water' is small scale, stretched Y-wise and not too high quality, and the mist at the bottom is blended by a slightly larger simple shape (or an adjusted one) and some perlin cloud until a certain height. The same simple shape is also used to redirect the rock wall slightly inwards, and color it in 'watercolors', surface shader set at coverage 50%. Although the latter effect is barely visible.
You certainly can stimulate enthusiasm ...this is amazing stuff Ulco.
TY, Bob.
Next iteration, probably the last for the time being, as I'm painting again...
Water fall looks very real, cool scene
That is quite an image. I hope you take it up again when you are done painting
What more would you suggest me to do about it?
To the left of the train engine is a whitish streak. Is that part of the rock texturing? Also (and this is probably a stretch) is it possible to put additional rail cars behind the engine?
Now this would be another goodie for sale at NWDA and/or Silva 3D!
Quotewhitish streak
It's a very thin fall, more of a veil of water coming from the rocks overhead. A bit too vague, I admit. And of course I can put more cars behind, just a matter of careful placing.
