Post by: inkydigit on January 09, 2013, 03:02:50 PM

This one is definitely worth tinkering. Great lighting!
What happened to the image compression? Be aware you don't have the 512kb limit anymore :)
If it's not the compression then I'm curious what your rendersettings were?

Cheers,
Martin

hi Martin, thanks for dropping by!
the jpeg compression is the most likely culprit, (banding in sky?) although some minor contrast/saturation in postwork may also have exacerbated the sky issue too!
otherwise render settings were: Quality 0.75, AA4, GI-3,2, RTO RTA...

Thanks kadri too!

This low point of view and light displays the plants quite well. Good work Jason.

Hi Jason,

You may consider upping AA a bit here. You could try AA6 (full sampling, no adaptive) for quite fast and nice results.
Furthermore the objects seem all to be standing upright?
You can enable "lean to normal" for the objects. For the grasses increasing the value for lean and reducing the restriction of lean may work/help.

Cheers,
Martin

Thanks Lane, Bob and Martin...
@Martin, well spotted! (the upright plants)
That was next on the least of tweaks... and thanks for the grass lean tip; handy to know.
next one will be AA6 then!
cheers
Jason
