I like those uphill points of view; gives one the feeling and thoughts of 'what's up over the hill'. I created a makeover here of a terrain/POV I've used several times over the past few years; this time adding different colors, atmosphere and plants.
Note the grayish blue stains on the red rocks. Looking into this, I found that this is attributed to molybdenum. Almost everywhere in red rock country, you will see this patina among the landforms.
The vegetation used here is:
• Walli's Dry Shrubs; numbers 8 and number 2. I added different image maps for number 8 shrub making it appear as sage plants. These dry shrubs are available at NWDA.
• Walli's Wood Anemone available at Silva 3D.
• Red Bud tree from XFrog available free at http://xfrog.com/130-free-xfrogplants-now-available/ .
If there is enough interest in this terrain, I'll make it available in 'File sharing'.
Enjoy.
I would really like to see how you did the rocks.............great pic.
Rocks are sweet! The one in the mid fore looks like a turtle :)
Fascinating rocks and I like the colour and your use of vegetation
The leaves on the front tree need some opacity file, Bob. Otherwise; very nice!
Lovely scene, especially the rocks. I'd love to see how you did them :-)
I know, everyone else said that already, but... these rocks are very original. Never seen anything like it.

Interesting etchings on those rocks, Bob. I'm guessing voronoi cracks imbedded into large boulder-sized fake stones.
A higher definition tree near right would greatly enhance this scene.
Great work, Bob.
Thanks to all for visiting. One thing; I did some backtracking and want to add that the file (shared) I used to create those etched boulders is created by 'glen5700' available here: http://www.planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=7165.0 .
@Dune: Yes, I must go back and play some more with those tree leaves. Although the file doesn't display errors, there are some issues with it.
Later today, after cleaning up the .tgd, I'll place it in 'File sharing'.
Those rock surfaces are great.
