Title: Dead Zone (featuring the Cumulonimbus/Anvil cloud pak)
Post by: Zairyn Arsyn on February 04, 2013, 11:22:13 AM

NWDA Fake Stone Bed + NWDA Cumulonimbus and Anvil cloud pack

i'm not satisfied with the fake stone bed, but i got them to look the way i wanted them to, next iteration i post.

Comments and Critiques welcome.

i got Walli's Dry Reed pack from Silva 3D, going to incorporate them into the coming renders.

Is it just me or does the "white point"/gamma of all of these images seem off? Like your monitor needs adjustment, or you're doing some consistent post-work that actually reduces the dynamic range and contrast.

you have a point Oshyan,
yeah i admit it, ive been going for that grainy film look lately. unfortunately one of my postwork tools messes with the lighting a bit. unwanted side effect.

i can post the original version later.

That's a really fat cloud!

Strange colours but I like it.

will make a second iteration of the TGD, should have version with dry reeds soon if its not finished.

thinking of masking out a old but visible path leading through the wasteland, on the fake stone layers that is.

Yeah, I personally like it without the heavy filter. It could maybe do with some contrast or other adjustment of black/white points, but overall it's pretty good as-is.

I like the second image, too. I was almost a bit disappoined about the cloud pack when I saw your first post, until Oshyan figured you messed with the output :D

Would like to see a few more made with this.

I need to launch this pack on my PC again at one point. I believe it can make use of a few new features that have been added to TG2 since I developed this pack...

nothing rendering right now, but heres what i from yesterday.

so whattya think? keep the reeds? maybe add some color variation?
working on masking a path with the painted shader. i think the next iteration will be good, though i havnt made any changes to the cloud layers.

C&C welcome.

I liked the first one, no 2 is good but no 3 is imo the best.

Love the cloud/clouds, the surface looks really good and the reed looks good too. But I wouldn't be outdoors in that weather because of the risk of lightning  ;)

If it's reed maybe you could some moist/water on the ground but why complicate things?

Right now I like no 3 as it is.

Cheers
