Title: Full size Window
Post by: TheBadger on April 09, 2013, 04:06:47 PM
Hello, and sorry, I know I should already know this, but...

I think it would be great if I could make the small 3D viewer window as big as I want (terrain view). I thought that it was already possible to make this window larger but if so I don't se a button for it. Anyway, besides being really fun to play with, I think it would be very helpful if I could make this window full screen.

If I can't do this, I request that it be added to the next release. I just want to make the window larger, so that should be easy?

THanks for thinking about it.

slightly off topic, something ive noticed with the 3D terrain preview window is its always centered around one area, and you cant move it, though you can zoom out of course but it takes some small scale details the farther you zoom out.

not a huge deal, just a problem when you need to see areas away from the center at a close distance

Yes, it's a limitation we're certainly aware of. It's kind of intended to be a "representative" area of the terrain, not an overview of the whole thing, because it needs to accommodate procedural terrains which can essentially be infinite. If you want to move around the whole terrain, you can just do so in the main 3D view really, it uses the same rendering methods. However I agree it would be useful to have quick access to a top-down view for terrain viewing like that, and being able to scroll around.

I very much agree with your last sentence, Oshyan. That would be a very good addition.
