Title: populator confusion
Post by: Kevin F on April 29, 2013, 01:09:01 PM
In the new release 2.5.5.0, why does the obj populator re-populate so often? Sometimes a change of lighting forces a re-populate and sometimes not. It seems to re-populate almost randomly without changes to numbers or density/spacing of objects.
Just when should it re-populate?

I've had the same problem.

In my current scene it repopulates every time I render, and all pop node have repopulate every frame turned off. Tried it on a simpler scene (made to try out populations) and it behaves as it should, so don't know what's going on there.

I had this happen today.
1.  I loaded a recent scene that was saved a couple hours previously.
2.  I did a quick render so it went through generating all the populations.
3.  When it finished, I looked a lake/water shader and verified a decay tint color (no changes made.)
4.  I started a full render without making any changes and everything re-populated.

Both quick and full renders are the same aspect ratio (1.77778).  Anyone know why I had the second re-population?

.... and just now I finished a full render, saved the render, changed the sunlight direction from 240 to 220 and clicked render and it re-populated! :-\
