Its a good scene I think, Kevin.
But it feels really harsh to me. Im not sure how to explain it better. Its like there is no air on the planet or something. Maybe some haze or some kind of density to the atmo? Sorry, thats probably not to helpful. But I notice this effect in a lot of renders, where its just to sharp or something. you can see it clearly in the poppies.
One highlight is the stone ruins in the background. They look excellent!

I agree with Michael on the harshness and I think he has good sugesstions.
You may also consider raising the strenght on surface parameter in the enviro light.
Default = 1, try to set it at 1.5 or 2 and see how it looks.
One technical thing on your rendersettings:
Detail blending is only meant for animations.
This setting blends subdivided geometry between frames to avoid popping etc.
In still images you won't need this setting.
If you disable it I think your render will be about twice as fast :)

Thanks guys, new version rendering right now with some of your suggestions.
Not 100% in agreement with the sharpness comments, but looking at the original .bmp output against the .jpg image here there is a difference. The bmp is softer but also a little darker or less stark.
having said that, a clear summers day in the U.K. can be quite sharp and clear (so long since we've had one though, I could be wrong!)
