I prefer this one of the preceding "the field".
Nice feeling and beautifull light ! For me the distribution of vegetation are more natural on this one.
I very like this one !!!  :)

I like the light and shadow in this one.

You need to make the color of your bluebells more vibrant. Also, check the reflectivity of the color shader for your flowers. It may be set too high.

This one works great! Like it a lot.

I would like to add to the other suggestions, that you should add a narrow dirt path through the woods (glen?). Then we can see some of those nice long stems!

Not a straight path, but something winding so that we cant see all or even most of it. But it would add depth (I mean hight) to the image (the ground below). And maybe some insects hovering here and there.

If it were mine I would not stop on this one. Its got a great feel to build on (and go a little crazy tweaking it)

Nice!

thanks for the comments and advice folks. I agree about the colour of the bluebells they're too pale and washed out. This is due to the high level of lighting used : sunlight strength 12, plus enviro strength on surfaces 2. This was all because of the lack of light penetrating through the tree canopy. If I'd rendered at default settings for lighting you'd hardly see any detail at all. I think I'll retry with a reduced tree density and thus increase the amount of light hitting the ground. This plus pumping up the bluebell colours and reducing reflectivity should work.
@ yossam, thanks for the link- very useful resource.

@Badger, I like the idea of a path.

I like this one better! The darks are real nice. But I would bring back some of the warmth of the first. So keep the blacks, but add a warm tone or filter.

And now that I see the path, I do like it, it creates a lot of context.
I would have it come out from directly under the camera though (or close to it). The stems in the foreground will create the most depth.

I like the first render for its lighting. Maybe just lowering the gamma from the default 2.2 to 1.9 would bring out the colors.

Nah, my wife tells me Blue Bells don't bloom at the same time of year as ferns and nettles! ;D
