It 's been a long time I didn't post any render.
So... here is the result of some testing.
Comments and critics are, as usual, most welcome !
Wow, really nice realism right there! Nothing to critic on.
Yeah, very nice, Seth! Great sky and realism.
thanks guys ^^
Sympas ;)
I really like the depth and 'weight' of the sky. This is a render that truly appeals to me, very well done!
The clouds are superb, and the subtle way you have handled the light and atmo make this a winner for me...
The terrain shapes, detailing and the water only add to this near perfect render. Beautiful !

:)
One of your best yet Frank! just fabulous!
The clouds are amazing.
Chris
great work, very well done :D

Welcome home Seth.
The image is very good! But do some more animations too! Im missing me some good new animations!
C'est beau !!! En plus du ciel et l'eau j'aime bien la distribution de la neige et de la végétation. Beau travail en post-prod aussi. :)

Seconded.
Great! The sky is fantastic and the terrain as well. Maybe a bit too much contrast for my taste.
thanks all for your kindness !
Hannes : I agree with you. I am not happy with the postwork I did, as I find it too contrasted too. It is the first time I contrast so much a render and I think it will be the last. ;)
Could you post the original render? I'd love to see it without pw.
Of course ^^
Here is the first WIP.
the sky is almost the same, the lighting too.
But the terrain a bit boring.
I prefer that teint of blue though.
edit : the second one is the original without postwork
Looks great! I prefer the first one (without postwork)
I agree with Hannes, definitly.
Very nice. You seem to have go light coming through the clouds to illuminate some of them really well which is what happens in reality. I've found this to be tricky because of overall eveness of cloud fractal shapes which leads to completely blocking light too much at many angles.
Really nice work Seth. Thanks for showing how the neutral render can be manipulated. 203 hrs sounds like an optimisation challenge, but that effect you have is noisless.

Where did it say that? I cant find it. Is that correct?
Yes it is. But I didn't say it here :)
That render was a stress test on stability.
So there is uselessly high values on several settings (like details, atmosphere etc...), the render was paused and restart at least ten times, I watched movies, played videogames and was websurfing during rendering, etc...
Terragen kept on rendering, without any errors.
I forgot to ask, are the trees procedural, Franck?
the render is beautiful, 203 hours... you have patience!!
:))
