Title: crack study
Post by: folder on June 01, 2013, 07:29:15 PM
hello all

playing with a combination of mhaze and TU crack shaders. tree by Walli and image map for the grass. tried to use various grass pops instead, but none would render. shader by TU is the small one from his canyon pack.  all comments appreciated

I like the grass in the foreground. You got it to work well on the rocks. About the cracks... I think they are good, all of em'. But after your testing is over and if you do a final image. I would say break them up so that they are not everywhere.

I'll be honest (sorry); I don't think you need the cracks. The distant rocks look a bit strange with the crisscross white lines, and the foreground is very 'busy' with structure and color. If you were to use a 'normal' billowed PF and a few subtle colors you might get kind of the same foreground, and much easier and less heavy on nodes.
