I think my preference is for the 2nd image. I like the slightly dusty look and the stronger lighting

Excellent space art....I especially like how you slanted the front and the back is normal. Pic 2 is better with the low mist....Way to go!!!

Love pic 2 the most :) Greeat images, I will hopefully have my first sci-fi scene up here at some point in a few weeks (go to go on holiday - bloomin' nuisance ;)

How does Markal create that terrain? I'd be very interested in knowing the technique or the basic approach - not sure how to get the overhang!

Thanks
Steve

I think the terrain was created in World Machine. The overhang was done by adding a twist and shear shader to the terrain. Look forward to your post. Enjoy your holiday.  :)

I added a distance shader to the mist to soften it up, and added a few objects to try to give it a sense of scale.

Unless anyone has any suggestions, I'm calling this fini.

P.S. That is not banding in the sky, its the mist.

I still haven't figured out how to do those overhangs.  Of course,  I haven't looked into it yet, either.  :-[

Thanks Yossam, not tried messing with twist/shear yet, but it's the kind of thing I want to achieve. Holidays are great, but such a shame it takes me away from my hobby. Must buy myself a super fast
Laptop again for such occasions lol!
