Title: Geotiff sources?
Post by: mash on July 28, 2013, 09:44:03 PM
Hi, I'm looking for sources for GeoTiff files.
In the past I used the rather crude http://seamless.usgs.gov/
That has been switch over to the much easier to use
http://viewer.nationalmap.gov/viewer/

The problem is I can't seem to change the output format when downloading anymore.
The only option is ArcGrid.

Does anyone know of any Free Geotiff sources?
thanks,
Mash

Hi Mash,

I can't help with the GeoTIFFs but the Geog heightfield load node which is new in TG3 can load ArcGRID files:

Duh, I didn't even think to try the ArcGrid format with TG3.
I just did and it works quite well in TG3.
Keep in mind even though in the National map viewer you can define a box for the area to download it still downloads the entire
1;24000 topo grid area.

TG3 can load all the major DEM sources that the National Map Viewer lets you download. :)
