It seems you used an image map shader with projection type "through camera", right? It looks like you projected an image onto the terrain with a giant slide projector standing behind the camera. Honestly this doesn't work. Why not using TG's native shader capabilities? You'll get much more realistic results.
or with the default shader. ;)

you're right, the more i look the more i agree.
i wanted to try image map shader but i admit it destroys some of the stratas and some shadows don't work too.
going back to Lab for a better render.
