Title: Changing Brightness During Animation
Post by: digidon on June 14, 2007, 11:03:08 PM
During animation I'm seeing changing brightness from frame to frame even if I eliminate all key frame variables - just render with no animated parameters.  It causes a brightness lickering on objects and distant mountains.  There must be a simple answer and I'm not thinking of it.  Did "search" with no results.  Any suggestions off the top of anyones' head?
Thanks

Most likely this is a problem with the global illumination system. GI is not yet considered "animation safe". It is recommended that you disable GI for animations and use a fill light setup instead. A simple example is available here: http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=580.0

Okay, I had GI quality and detail set to "2" but "GI surface details" was unchecked.  I thought this meant it was not "on" since it wasn't checked.  I set the values to "0" and re-ran the frame.  I see the difference now.  Will work on the alternative lighting.
Thanks much
